Teresa Casey, a devoted wife and a cherished Aunt, passed away at the age of 93. She is united
with her beloved late husband, George, in eternal peace.
Born to the late Martin and Mary McCauley, along with Mary and Eileen, Teresa’s life was marked
by love and family.
Her late husband was an attorney in the New York judicial system and Teresa worked as a legal
secretary. They loved to travel, visiting Mexico and Europe as well as a number of states.
After his passing, Teresa (also known as Tessie or Terry) continued to live in the same Bronx
apartment for more than 50 years until her passing. She continued to enjoy time spent with her
niece and nephews: the Caseys (James, Marjorie, Patrick, Colin, Darren, Anthony, Matthew and
Jonathan), Croceveras (John and Damien) and Claires (Martin and Ed) and their families. She also
enjoyed reading as well as trips to slot machines in Atlantic City.
Toward the end of her life, she went completely blind, but was still able to “read” by listening to
Books for the Blind. She will be remembered for her sharp mind and devotion to family and
friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
The family of Teresa Casey will be receiving visitors as Williams Funeral Home (5628 Broadway,
Bronx 10463) on Friday, April 12 from 3pm to 8pm. There will be a funeral mass at St. Margaret of
Cortona (6000 Riverdale Ave, Bronx 10471) at 9:45am on Saturday, followed by interment in
Calvary Cemetery (49-02 Laurel Hill Boulevard, Woodside 11377). In lieu of flowers, the family
kindly requests donations to the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her, and may her family
find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with her throughout the years.
